Mother Teresa is known to have founded the Roman Catholic congregation of women, which was of the order of the missionaries of charity and it was dedicated to helping poor people. She is believed to be one of the most well known humanitarians of the 20th century and was also canonized in 2016 with the title of Saint Teresa of Calcutta.
She is the one who is known for have devoted her entire life for helping people and working for improving the condition of poor people. She was known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta in the Catholic Church and was nun and missionary Mother Teresa. She was born in Macedonia and had got her 17 years of education from India and she got her inner calling in 1946. She was involved in the development of a hospital and a center for the aged and disabled and for blind and leper colony. For her great work, she is the one to have received the Nobel Peace in the year 1979. In 1997, she left the world teaching a lot of things to take care of in 1997 September and late in 2003 she was beatified. In 2015, pope franchise recognized Mother Teresa as second miracle and that gave a way to canonize her in 2016 September.
The birth of Mother Teresa took place in 1910, 26th August in Skopje, the current capital of the Republic of Macedonia. She was baptized on the following day of her birth. Death Details (When and where) She suffered several years of deteriorating health condition that included problems with heart, kidney and lung she died in the year 1997, 5th September when she was 87 years old.
An Indian woman in 2002 called Monica Besra said that she got cured of an abdominal tumor after she has taken an intercession on Mother Teresa which was organized on the one year of her death anniversary and that was recognized as a miracle. And, after this she was declared to have landed in haven or beatified as "Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta" in the year 2003, October 19 by Pope John Paul II.
In 2015, 17 December, it was declared by Pope Francis to issue a decree that called for recognizing a second miracle related to Mother Teresa that paved a way for her to get canonized as a saint of the Roman Catholic Church.
The second miracle was that related to the healing of a Brazilian man known as Marcilio Andrino. He was diagnosed to have developed viral brain infection and lapsed into a coma and his family was seen to have been praying to Mother Teresa which create a miracle and when he was brought down for his emergency surgery to the operating room, he miraculously woke up without any pain and his symptoms disappeared. After this she was canonized in 2016, 4th September, a day prior to her 19th death anniversary.
Mother Teresa was born to Nikola and Dranafile Bojaxhiu and they were of the Albanian descent. Father of Mother Teresa was a construction worker and a trader of medicines and related goods. She belonged to a devoted catholic family and Nikola used to get involved with the local churches as well as in the politics of the city.
In the year 1919, suddenly Mother Teresa's (that time called as Agnes) Father died because of some unknown cause. Many people make speculations that he died because some of the local proponents have poisoned him. At that time mother Teresa was only eight years old.
In the quest of dealing with the agony of her father's death mother Teresa became very close to her mother. Her mother was a very pure hearted and she instilled into her mind the strong commitment towards charity.
Agnes took her school education in a convent run primary school and then the secondary education in a state-run school. When she was young she was often seen singing in local Sacred Heart choir and she also sang solos. During her an annual pilgrimage to the Church of the Black Madonna in Letnice at the age of 12 years, she felt her first calling for the religious life.
Six years after her first calling to the religious life, at tha age of 18 Agnes, made her mind to become a nun and she flew to Ireland to join the Sisters of Loreto in Dublin. There she was named as Sister Mary Teresa after Saint Thérèse of Lisieux.
One year later. Sister Mary Teresa came to India, Darjeeling in 1931 May for the novitiate period and there she made her first profession of vows. After which she went to Calcutta where she started teaching for Saint Mary's High School for Girls which was dedicated to teaching poor girls from the Bengali family and was run by Loreto Sisters. She then also learned to speak Hindi as well as Bengali and taught geography and history. And, later she completely dedicated herself to alleviating the poverty by imparting education. In 1937, 24 May, she took her final vows professionally and devoted her life to obedience, chastity and poverty. According to the system of the Loreto nuns, after taking the final vows she took up the title of "Mother" and became Mother Teresa and she is know with this name around the world.
